Nappy Pic of the Week :: Spray of Roses

This has to be one of our most treasured nappies. It is yet another one of our lovely Chloe Toes by Katnappies diapers. The delicate, pink sprays of tiny roses are just so beautiful. It is one of those nappies you love so much you think it has to be a special occasion in order to put it on but because of this it ends up sitting on the shelf as there is rarely a time deemed 'special' enough.

Today I decided that when you have a gorgeous little baby who is going to grow up all too quickly that every day is special enough to have a beautiful behind! There will be no more 'saving for special occasions'. Living this way there a lot more smiles!

Don't you just love it? It's so sweet and delicate. Just like our baby Zoe.

Zoe is 6 months old and weighs just over 6kg (13lbs). This is the small size Chloe Toes diaper and it fits perfectly. We are still on the smallest snaps on one side and second smallest on the other. It looks a little lopsided from the front but creates a good fit this way. It will still be quite a while before she fits into the mediums, however we are starting solids soon so the weight may come on quickly. I will keep you posted.

Look how strong Zoe is getting. Isn't she just the best? I know all mum's say that but in this particular case I really do believe it's true *wink*.

Katnappies can be purchases from the Katnappies website or Etsy store. Other gorgeous Chloe Toes diapers can be found at An Angels Kiss Diaper Boutique, also on Etsy.

Somewhere Over The Rainbow

It's the 15th everybody and tonight is the spectacular 24 hour stocking of Gossamer Dreams, the collaboration store of several talented WAHM's. Each month they create objects of desire based on a theme. This months theme is RAINBOW and there are some really cute, colourful items up for grabs. For starters we have this set of 7 teeny tiny rainbow babies ($42) which are pictured above. Measuring only 5cm tall and made from a soft, hand dyed bamboo velour these little cuties will surely be snapped up instantly.

Next we have what I'm sure will be the most highly coveted item of the evening. A one of a kind set of hand dyed bamboo velour newborn Raphael nappies from Cherub's Kiss ($120). One little newborn is going to have the bestest, brightest butt in all the land. What a very lucky baby!

Wear your love for modern cloth nappies on your sleeve (well on your keys anyway) with one of these tiny minky nappy keyrings ($8). Available in a variety of bright colours, the price is for one keyring only.

In my opinion the pot of gold at the end of this rainbow stocking is this gorgeous Cherub's Kiss Auriel fitted nappy ($30). Whilst it is a fitted, therefore needing a cover, for another $37 (if you buy this fitted) you have the option of adding a gorgeous AIO Auriel with the same material as a feature panel to your cart or for an extra $33.50 a Quickdry Honeyboy with the rainbow material on the Deco-tabs.

There are many other gorgeous rainbow inspired pieces available, including a tutu set, knot doll, girly outfits and other nappies. To purchase any of the above items be sure to visit the Gossamer Dreams store at 8pm on the dot! If you really, really want something I suggest you load the site about 10 minutes early and then refresh, refresh, refresh. Items are previewing now. Remember all listed prices include regular post within Australia. Express and registered post are available for an additional fee.

Good luck everybody! Hope you get what you wish for, but if you don't that's ok. There will be more inspired, beautifully handcrafted items next month. Please check the Gossamer Dreams blog for updates on future theme's and stockings.

1000 Visitors, YAY!

Today Cloth Dreaming had it's 1000th visitor. YAY! Visitor 1000 was actually from Italy. Buongiorno and Grazie to that person, whoever you are. Even as I took the screen shot of my visitor world map showing the location of just the last 100 visits (shown above) I had 3 more. As you can see the word on cloth nappies is certainly getting out there and it makes me so happy to be sharing the love.

Thanks everyone! Come visit often and don't forget to tell you friends with wee ones that cloth nappies are not the next big thing, they are the biggest and the best thing (and they are a lot of fun too).

The Good, The Bad And The Ugly

I love to share my cloth nappy experiences in the hopes of helping others make good choices for themselves and for their babies (and just because I LOVE cloth nappies) but sadly I can't, and unfortunately never will get around to trying every cloth nappy out there. Also, whilst I try to be as honest and clear as I possibly can, I am only able to say what does and doesn't work for Zoe. As you well know, babies come in all shapes and sizes (and so do their bowel movements). Because of this fact I thought I would point you all to a very interesting and informative thread unfolding over on the Nappy Addicts Forum where people are talking about the first nappy, the best nappy and the worst nappy they have ever tried. What I am noticing more and more is that it is often the first one that turns out to be the worst, so it is worth taking the time to read through the thoughts and experiences these woman have before making that all important first purchase.

I am no expert on cloth nappies. I don't believe any 'one' person can be, as there are just too many types as well as too many individual factors involved, however as a collective, the women on the Nappy Addicts forum are about as close as you are going to get to 'expert' opinion when it comes to cloth nappies. In every stage of use, from beginner to old hat, newborn through to toilet training, these are the people using them every day, several times a day, sometimes on more than one child at a time. They go through many types, day in and day out (nights as well) so getting their feedback on what has and has not worked for them may just help you avoid some of the newbie pitfalls that we are all prone to when we start our cloth nappy adventures.

While you are over at the Nappy Addicts forum why don't you join up and come say 'Hi'. New 'addicts' are always welcome. You certainly don't need to be a nappy addict to join either. That will come in time as you read and get more involved in the forum discussions. If it's related to cloth nappies you will find it (or people willing to discuss it) on the forum.

If you are interested in trying any of the nappies mentioned here or on the forum please feel free to leave a comment on this post with the details of the nappies you are interested in and I would be more than happy to point you in the right direction. Unless you leave an email address I will reply to your enquiry in the comments section as well so be sure to check back for an answer.

Happy nappying!
