Reusable Nappy Week

Tomorrow marks the first day of the third annual Reusable Nappy Week, presented by ANN (Australian Nappy Network) and sponsored by Nurture Nappies and The Itti Bitti Nappy Co. Running from Monday October 13th, 2008 to October 19th, 2008 the week is filled with various nappy expos and displays, sewing and knitting workshops, demonstrations, information sessions, markets, picnics, and morning teas all over the country. All events are free to attend and will give you a chance to see a large selection of modern variations on reusable nappy options and talk to parents who use cloth on their children. For more information you can check out the Reusable Nappy Week website, blog or facebook page. To find out what events are happening in your state click here.

To celebrate Reusable Nappy Week I am running a competition for the remainder of October. To enter all you need to do is tell me which cloth nappy you would buy for a friend who you would like to see start using cloth on their child and why you chose that particular nappy. This friend must be a 'real' person and currently using disposable nappies for their child. The winner will be the person with the most thoughtful response. If you are selected as the winner I will buy one of the nappies that you described for you to give to your friend as a gift. What better way to celebrate Reusable Nappy Week than to introduce cloth to someone who may not otherwise have thought about using it. Please keep in mind that depending on your nappy selection it could be a while until a nappy can be ordered, especially if you select a brand that needs to be custom made, but I will endeavour to get the nappy out to you as quick as I can so that you can pass it on to your friend as soon as possible.

Send your entries along with the following information to clothdreaming@hotmail.com by October 31st, 2008.

- Nappy selection and why (please include age of child the nappy would be used on as well as size of the nappy you would buy)
- Your full name
- Your email address
- Your friends full name

The winner will be announced on the blog and contacted by email on Monday November 3rd, 2008. Good luck everyone!

Please note: This particular competition is open to Australian residents only. I do hope to run some international competitions in the future though so if you are a reader from another country please do not lose heart. There will be something for you happening in a few months. Also, only one entry per person is permitted. If you submit more than one entry only your first entry will be counted.
